Lanzarote South Face Walk
The Natural Monument of Los Ajaches is one of the oldest geological áreas of the Canary Islands.
This barren, rugged and solitaire southern mountain massif of Lanzarote hides some of the best walks of the island. The landscape is sliced up by ravines and hidden valleys and you are unlikely to see another soul, save a goatherd. Due to the very scarce human presence, it is a good place to spot vultures, falcons, ravens and another bird spices.
Walking across impressive ravines like Barranco del Fraile and Barranco del Higueral or reaching the summit of Pico Naos at 422 meters above sea level are some of the highlights of the hike, that together with the ever-present ocean rewards us with very spectaculars views in this landscape of dramatic beauty.
