Northern Valleys Guided Walk
Setting off from the village of Maguez this hike takes us walking across valleys like the beautiful One Thousand Palm Tree Valley and the charming village of Haria, colourful meadows and grasslands or along the breathtaking 500 meters high cliffs of Famara. Spectaculars views are guaranteed all the way.
Despite the lack of rain and the poor vegetation cover of the island, this part of Lanzarote houses one of the most important endemic plants communities of Europe with more than 15 different species (the carpet of wildflowers in spring is a delight) and it is not less important for bird lovers because we can spot birds like the Egyptian Vulture, the Barbary Falcon or the Osprey that make the sheer cliffs of Lanzarote and the islands of the Archipelago Chinijo their home.
We like to walk on Saturdays because in the traditional village of Haria takes place the only handicraft market of the island where you can acquire our famous homemade cheese, the traditional Canarian sauces or “mojos”, some traditional handicrafts or just have a break to enjoy the nice atmosphere of the place.
